Swift to FIX converter

Hi,

I am working for the project department of a financial institution. Front office is working through FIX protocole while Back office is still working through Swift protocole. I would like to know if there is any converter as I see that both companies agreed about message standardisation in 2001. Can someone help me with this issue?

Hi Anthony,

FIX to SWIFT mapping is not all that straight forward. First of all, not all messages can be transformed. The main ones that can are: Execution Report, Allcoations, and Confirmations. That said, the transformation rules will differ depending on a number of factors, such as:

  • Side of trade (i.e. Buy or Sell), which affected which SWIFT message you transform to
  • FIX Custom tags that you may have implemented
  • Internal rules you may have on data transformation or workflow

My company, Rapid Addition, do a FIX to SWIFT transformation in BizTalk. There is much more to it, however, as this isn’t the forum for me to espouse its virtues, if you want more info please feel free to drop me a PM.
