TAG 39 for Unsolicited replacements

What messages should be generated when the QTY is increased on an order via an unsolicited replacement.

I am aware that Tag 150 (ExecType) should be set to D. What should Tag 39 be?

Furthermore how many messages should be generated. In FIX 4.0 I used to create two messages.

Firstly a pending Replace (Tag 39 = 6).
Secondly a replace message (Tag 39 = 5).

Is a similar concept applicable to FIX 4.2. If so what should the respective values of Tag 39 be. Furthermore should Tag 150 stay as D for the second message, or should it be set to 5?
