The FAST specification (in section 9) expresses the extensibility of FAST template definitions as the ability to add foreign data to them. When SCP 1.1 (v1.1_03) defines (in appendix 2.2) a set of FAST templates that prescribe the wire format of template definitions, it makes no mention of this foreign data. Is there a proposal for supporting template definition extensibility within SCP 1.1?
The current working version of the ducument (.04) has support for foreign elements and attributes. Parts of it are already hinted in the example package we prepared some while ago
(not sure about the availability of the package though).
In essence, every template def and instruction will have an optional Other group containing any foreign parts.

When do you suppose this proposal will be made available to the community?

It seems like the example kit is actually available on the MDOWG Working Group page, first entry under Documents/METTING MATERIALS: FAST SCP Example Kit. If you cannot get it from there you may try this

The file scp.td contains the templates related to extensibility, and you may find the file scp.html helpful to get at the to-XML-translation. However, none of the current examples include any
extended content.
