I don’t think one can ignore these messages. Heartbeat is the core for maintaining the livei-ness of a session, while TestRequest is a key for testing any Sequence Gap…

What do you mean by “use”?

Heartbeat and TestRequest are part of the required session level protocol and have to be implemented by every FIX engine. Normally, your engine takes care of these messages for you.
