Usage of ExecType="9 - Suspended"

I would like to solicit feedback on the actual usage of ExecType=“9-Suspended”. It appears that this execution type cannot be the result of an Order Cancel/Replace Request with ExecInst=“S” for order suspension as the corresponding Execution Report should return ExecType=“5-Replaced”. It might be relevant for unsolicited order suspensions although there is no equivalent to release an order again.

Who is using ExecType=“9-Suspended” and what is your use case and message flow for this?

Somewhere in the past we were discussing a solution in which the order would be suspended temporarylly by market surveillance in a case where the order, after some human analysis of the supervision, will be modified by the trader and then became active again. We did not get a point on that so as of now, we don’t use it but would in a near future.

sounds like your use case starts with an unsolicited suspension from the marketplace with ExecType=Suspended(9), followed by an Order Cancel/Replace from the user, followed by an Execution Report from the marketplace with ExecType=Replaced(5). The modification request in itself is also the request to release the order from suspension.

Can you confirm this?

you got it! That’s exactally the scenario, the modification request acting as a release of the suspended order.
