Pivot Solutions seeks a User Interface Designer/Developer to become part of the world-class team designing and building the Company’s IMTrader product. IMTrader is an n-tier messaging and trading solution tailored for the financial services industry and is built using both Java and .NET technologies. The successful candidate will be charged with designing and developing .NET User Interfaces for professional traders and will be involved in the full product lifecycle. The position is guaranteed to be challenging and educational as well as having excellent internal promotion opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design/develop functional Windows Forms using pre-made classes.
• Create/design rich User Interfaces using graphics elements of your own invention.
• Create custom components to enhance product functionality.
• Contribute to the technological development of our product.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2+ years design/development experience with C# and .NET technologies
• 2+ years web design/development experience.
• Strong understanding of multi-threading and network programming.
• Experience on two or more projects of designing and developing complex user interfaces leveraging XML and XSLT technologies.
• Strong understanding and commitment to unit testing.
• Commitment to teamwork within development and the organization.
• Strong error catching skills; dedication to provide human readable messages to end users; attention to detail in doing so.
• Dedication to quality product in partnership with QA professionals.
• Self motivation in keeping current with development technologies, methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Proven track record of executing against delivery dates in a dynamic environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Understanding of human factors and workflow for professional traders.
• Familiarity with front-office and back-office investment management/brokerage operations
• Formal human factor/usability training.
• Experience with graphic design.
• Previous experience at a financial services software vendor.
• Familiarity with instant messaging applications including AOL’s Instant Messenger, Microsoft’s MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger.
• Strong work ethic.
• Willingness to exceed expectations to get the job done.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree from top-tier computer science/engineering university program.
Compensation for this position includes, among others, a base salary, performance bonus, and excellent health and dental benefits.
