Valid values for certain Fix tags

Hello there,
Certain tags in FIX provide a set of valid(allowable) values.
Does this mean that it does not support any other values in those tags.

I mean do the fix engines available from various vendors restrict such data.

Please advice.

Most FIX engines provide a way to define your own custom dictionary.

You can customize the valid allowable values that way.
