Value of ExecType for an unsolicited amendment of a 4.2 telephone order

Hi,

Just trying to find out what the 4.2 FIX specs. says the value of ExecType should be for an unsolicited amendment from sell side for a telephone order is. This event is not included in Appendix D of the specs. Should ExecType = D (Restated) or 5 (Replace) or even other value ?

Hi David,
I believe the value in the ExecType attribute should be the same
as the value in the OrdStatus attribute returned to the client;

If the order has no executions then ExecType and OrdStatus will both
be ‘New’ and if the order is partially filled then ExecType and
OrdStatus will be Partial Fill.

The ExecType cannot be used to identify this Execution Report as
an unsolicited amendment.

let me retract my previous statement … The ExecType should be set to ‘restated’ with the restatement reason attribute being populated also.
