Vice President- Global Equity Derivative Technology - Tokyo

Global Investment Bank in Tokyo is looking to fill in the position of Vice President- Global Equity Derivative Technology.

The successful candidate will serve as a manager of the Global Equity Derivative (GED) Technology team managing 2-3 people in Tokyo and also be expected to assume regional responsibility in certain functional areas. This involves working in conjunction with global (both onshore and offshore) and regional counterparts on business analysis, requirement specifications, integration testing and deployment of global systems or regional applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day operation of GED infrastructure for Tokyo that involves Risk management, Futures & Options trading and OTC derivatives trade processing systems, and will also be owning these key relationships with the business and support functions.

Core Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 7+ years investment bank experience
  • 3+ years project and people management experience
  • Good communication skills - bilingual (both English and Japanese)

Technical Skills:

  • Database: Sybase or Oracle
  • Preferred language: Java, SQL, Unix Shell, Perl
  • Platforms: XP and Unix
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to learn quickly

Project Management:

  • Ability to manage projects in entire project lifecycle and complete them on time
  • Ability to interact with managers an developers both onshore and offshore
  • Ability to interact with sales, traders, operations and controllers

Business Acumen:

  • Financial products knowledge are essential
  • Equity derivative products knowledge is a big plus
  • Local Japanese financial markets knowledge is a big plus
