Our client, a Manhattan-based Capital Markets firm, seeks a Senior Level Software Engineering consultant to work with current IT staff application design, development and deployment.
The person in this role will be required to work with external vendor development teams to define necessary integration elements, development and deployment approach. Will also have be responsible for all internal component design and development.
Qualified candidates have strong experience in all aspects of equities trading, including: Order Management; applications; FIX messaging; Market Data; and Middle/Back office integration.
Technical Skills: Expert level C++; Java highly desirable; strong application modeling and design (Rational Rose, UML); strong database modeling and development (Oracle or SQL); experience with coding in Perl; J2EE development experience with EJB, JSP, Weblogic 7.x highly desirable.
Also required: In-depth UNIX development experience; proven ability to manage and deliver projects; 5+ years in trading systems development and production support experience.
Other: Outgoing personality; this is a team effort; strong communicator; self starter / take initiative; experience in managing technical staff Internal and external); ability to work in a demanding environment; outstanding academic background (advanced degree preferred) in computer science or engineering.
