Hi,
since XETRA 12.0 will be released shortly including the deprecation of VALUES API, I am wondering how a market maker can send Xetra-Quotes via FIX 4.4 to provide liquidity for an instrument.
Can someone help me out here?
Many thanks in advance,
Harald
Harald,
VALUES API will not be deprecated with XETRA 12.0. A FIX 4.2 and a FIX 4.4 Gateway will be introduced in addition to the VALUES API with XETRA 12.0. The new gateways are not intended to be used for market making, hence do not include related functionality. The bulk of market making on XETRA today does not use VALUES API but the ETS (Enhanced Transaction Solution) interface which will also not be deprecated with XETRA 12.0.
The intention of the additional offerings such as the FIX 4.x Gateways and the FIX over FAST Market Data Interface (both come with XETRA 12.0) are to provide an alternative to the VALUES API which will eventually be phased out. VALUES API is a single monolithic interface which is less suited for today’s landscape than a set of interfaces, each of which has the appropriate transport layer, e.g. FIX Session with TCP for order routing, FAST with UDP for market data, FIXML with AMQP for clearing.

Hanno.
