35=V within FX

Imported from previous forum

Hi All,

I am starting this thread so we can discuss how others ECN/Brokers/Banks implement 35=V for FX and what tags are used. Currently at HSBC we use FIX.4.4 and some of the values and tags that may be mentioned maybe from FIX 5.0.

General:

461 instead of 167:
Looking at FIX 4.4 and exchange traded products, CFI code is more popular as there is an ISO standard, FIX does define it quite well for FX:
RCSXXX is FX SPT
FFCCPNO is FX FWD
FFCNNO is NDF
461=FFCPNW is FX swap

Using tag 63, currently many ECN’s and other banks use custom tags to define tenor dates. Again there are well defined values that can be used :
63=0 is SPT
63=1 is Today
63=2 is Tom
63=B is Broken
63=C is SNX
63=Dx Where D is for Days and x is an integer
63=Wx Where W is for weeks and x is an integer
63=Mx Where M is for Months and x is an integer
63=Yx Where Y is for years and x is an integer

Using tag 64 for Value date

Specifying Amounts:
Currently we will use repeating group 711 and use tag 879 to define amounts from lowest to highest, happy to hear other suggestions.

Thanks
