Hi,
In the 4.3 Session-level Test Cases doc, under Test Caes applicable to all FIX systems, RefID #10 describes the ‘Receive Sequence Reset - Gap Fill’ test case. Only the NewSeqNo > MsgSeqNum condition (with other combinations)is described. 1.Can anyone tell me as to why the other conditions, viz.,NewSeqNum = MsgSeqNum and NewSeqNum < MsgSeqNum are left out?

  1. What is the correct behaviour for these conditions?

Thanks in advance,
Ranjit

I guess in cases like NewSeqNum = MsgSeqNum and NewSeqNum < MsgSeqNum connection should be dropped immediately. Some prefer to suspend the connection and resume onlt after both parties manulally acknowledge the problem and fix it.
