Right now all the repository files have as their root node: This is a remnant from early Microsoft interfaces for reading XML documents as a dataset. Underneath the dataroot element in each separate repository files the main element is sometimes plural sometimes not. Dataroot is a remnant from very early Microsoft tools. It has been seven years and several releases of tools to support XML since that time. As we are already changing many of the database column level names – I would like to propose that we further cleanup the higher level structure to make a more mainstream professional release and eliminate replacing them with a name that describes the content. Once we get through this much needed maintenance release that will be available to FPL members by the end of February, we will focus on the FIX repository metamodel, dialog description (profiles), and the unified repository.
