About Tag-393 in Security Definition Response

Hi,
I had a query regarding the value in the Tag-393(TotNumSecurities) in the Security Definition Response.
What does it indicate in the Security Definition Response?

Tag 393 as the Name indicates stands for the Total Number of Securities (may be matching the Request).

Assuming the request is for a List of Securities, there are two ways you can reply to a Security Definition Request

  • Send 1 response containing all the Securities - In this case, the value of this Tag can identify how many securities (repeating groups) are there in the response.
  • Send 1 message for each Security - To identify to the receiving party how many messages you may be sending for the response (with the same SecurityResponseID, 322)

In case the request matches only 1 repsonse, then the value for this tag shoudl 1; Same case for no Matches. (Value = 0)
