Add three rows to FIX Functionality Matrix

Imported from previous forum

This is an enhancement request to the FIX Functionality matrix at http://fixprotocol.org/functionality. Add three rows to show for each version the number of

Standard Session messages
Standard Business messages
Standard Tags

This would make it easier for viewers of the functionality matrix to get a feel for “relative differences in complexity” between versions. I could not another easy way to get these numbers.

I also think that this is good information to have in an overview but it is not part of the functionality per se. It is technical information about the size of the FIX “toolbox” available to solve business problems. I am not sure what value a single number per version has and how one would interpret that with the different colors for the various pieces of functionality. It is quite obvious that the number of standard session messages is pretty stable, business messages steadily increase and tags increase more significantly. The information can be retrieved from the FIX repository.

Would you be willing to compile the numbers if a separate table were added, for example to the FIX Repository (http://fixprotocol.org/repository) page?

Hanno,

Its a good idea putting it on FIX Repository page (http://fixprotocol.org/repository). I am willing to compile the numbers. Since this may involve discussing the table format and we may need to exchange document(s) containing table format etc. lets discuss this work directly thru emails rather than continuing this Thread of discussion because we cannot attach any documents here. My email id is kay_mahesh@yahoo.com
