Can any tell me what the difference is between an AllocationReport and an AllocationInstruction or alternatively tell me were to look ? I can see any details in the Spec.

Hi,
Volumes 5 and 7 of the specification discusses this in some detail. Volume 5 covers the general usage of these messages; volume 7 covers some specific examples relating to particular product types.
In summary, and with particular reference to bilateral buyside/sellside messaging, the Allocation Instruction is intended as the buyside-initiated message, being an instruction to another party to perform a booking or allocation on one or more orders. The allocation report is more like a statement of allocations, designed to be sent from sellside to buyside (or other interested parties).
When third party intermediaries (e.g. clearing houses) are introduced, these messages are used in pretty much the same way, the allocation instruction being used to communicate new allocation details and the allocation report being used to respond with additional information.
