Hi,
I am very new to this domain. I want to know and implement it for my project. Can anybody tell me why and for what FIX protocol is used?. May i get some guidance with some sample applications?.

May I also suggest that you take a look at fiximulator.org which I put together following the completion of my thesis. The introduction to my thesis document is written for a complete newcomer and the application needs no configuration allowing you to see FIX at work immediately.

Hi,

There is a big difference between an introduction to FIX and writing a .NET application that does something related to trading.

You may start with the resources we mentioned and then take it from there. You will need to evaluate what FIX engine to choose based on your application requirements.

Vendors providing FIX engines and related services are available from this site as well.
