Yes. See the FIX Fixed Income working group. The extension necessary to facilitate FI trading are in the approval stage. I believe they may formally be incorporated into 4.3. The documentation already exists for these fields. We will be enhanceing our product with theses extensions.
Our feeling is that there is every chance that FIX can penetrate bond market trading. In particular this will be driven by the needs of investors to access liquidity pools without necessarily using a proprietary front end. Note also the imperative of T+1 setl which will effect the bond markets in the next 3 yrs.
