Background:
The Loan Exposure Management Group (LEMG) is a recently formed unit reporting to the heads of Global Markets and Global Corporate Finance. The Group leads the Firm’s Credit Transformation – pricing new loans to market, assessing shortfall payments for loans priced below market, hedging the credit risk of this loan portfolio and risk managing the portfolio. LEMG is heavily reliant on loan, credit default swap and credit reference data for the effective pricing and risk management of its portfolios.
Role and Responsibilities:
The position is a business analyst role within the LEMG IT Department. As a critical driver of a highly quantitative system, the candidate is expected to be very responsive, and contribute towards the following –
· Specification writing in order to add new loan variants, and or risk statistics to the system.
· Quantitative testing in order to verify that the prices, and or risk statistics are correct.
· Client interaction, including business meetings both here in the US and in Europe.
· Close interaction with development teams in the US and Europe
· Ability to work across multiple business lines in order to build one set of risk tools that can be used throughout the application, by all business areas.
· Work closely with the development teams in the US and Europe to move current toolset processing to a compute farm for both pnl and risk.
Qualifications:
The individual will need to have
· Minimum 5 + years in the areas of Risk, and Pricing in either a vendor, or corporate environment in developing, and or enhancing financial risk/pricing software.
· Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
· Solid knowledge of wide range of financial instruments, hand-on experience with financial pricing and/or risk management for credit derivative and interest rate derivatives.
· Product knowledge of interest rate instruments (interest rate swaps / bonds / swaptions, etc.) and credit derivative instruments (credit default swaps / CDO / basket structures, etc.)
· Results oriented
· In depth knowledge of excel, with vba development experience a plus.
