The following is an update on current status of the Certification Program.
The GFIC and Certification Working Group presented recommendations to the Global Steering Committee at the December meeting. These recommendations were based on review of the five proposals received. Selection decisions are planned for the GSC meeting January 27th with the program starting up in February.
Session certification for all protocols will be included in the program. The initial phase of certification will focus Fixed Income, initially for US Treasuries, Agencies, and high grade Corporates. Following phases will expand to Euros and other asset types. Once the program is fully engaged with FIX 4.4 Fixed Income certification, we hope to expand into Equities and beyond with more versions of the protocol.
The structure for preparing and managing certification tests has been agreed. Brook Path Partners has been retained to support writing test suites of test cases for specific asset types. The Certification Working Group will guide and approve the test cases before providing them to the selected certifiers for deployment in their test systems.
