Can anyone tell me whether or not it is valid to change a day order to a GTC via a Cancel/Replace request?

Even though it may not have been their intent, the designers of the Cancel/Replace message allowed new data to be substituted for every element. But interpretation of Cancel/Replace is implementation-depenedent - better check with your counterparty.

Hi Dave,

I believe this is exactly the sort of scenario the cancel/replace message was designed to cater for.

Certainly in our experience it is what this message is being used for (as well as changes in limit price, nominal etc.)
