Are there any “no frills” discount brokers that will provide a FIX interface? We are looking at one but the minimum annual commissions are $1200 per year which seems a bit pricy. Surely there must be other good brokers or gateways that are not so expensive?

Would you like to try my FixExpress, a gateway? It will not be expensive, and easy to use. It is built in C++. The free downloading package is at A Person to Person Business Site. Sample programs are included. To use it, your application will only deal with two message queues. You receive message by reading the incoming messages, and send message to outgoing message queue. FixExpress deliver FIX messages at a real time.
