Does anyone know if there is a limitation on the length of ClOrdID fields amongst various products implementing FIX?

fields amongst various products implementing FIX?

Each exchange has their own rules. Some places will insist on an alphabetical prefix, others will allow you to put whatever you want in the field. CME used to only return the last 5 bytes in some messages, but I believe that has been extended to the 20 byte maximum.
