Hi all,
I wanted to know why Handling Instruction is made a required field
and Execution Instuction is only an optional field in a FIX Message?
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Sandeep,
although I do not have the answer to your question, you may be interested in the fact that the restricton was removed in FIX 4.4 - both fields are optional from that time.

Hi Sandeep,
Handling Instructions tells you that whether order is supposed to be handle by Trader or should directly send this to Market
I think its not necessary to give Exec Instrcution because if order is routed to Trader then he knows how to execute the order and you can give him instructions in Text field if its required
if order is routed to market then ExecInst field is not used , you can use different OrderType and TimeinForce to instruct how your order will get executed
Thanks
