Hello,
FIX Protocol provides session level recovery with the ResendRequest messages so that missing messages can be recovered.
Is it possible to do application level recovery between two financial institutions(two ends of the FIX Session)? ie The sum of total Ordered Quantity/Amount, Executed Quantity/Amount, OutStanding Quantity/Amount etc. If this is incorporated in the protocol and both parties are exchanging this information at a regular interval, then it will eliminate all the possibilities of loosing the vital financial information.

FIX 4.3 introduced "Order Mass Status Request" (see Volume 4). FIX 4.3 also introducted "Trade Capture Report Request" for "trade capture" ("Streetside reporting" (see Volume 5).
