Can anybody knowledge about fast decoding using compact notation?

I have some knowlegde of FAST decoding (used in CME Group MDP).
But I don’t know much about “compact notation”.
In CME Group MDP, they are using xml for templates.
If you have any other query about FAST decoding, please share with me.
