Hi team,
Are there any fields that can be used to capture different link ids (Not looking for 820 - TradeLinkId).
Example - A generic field to capture (ex1)LinkId used by Traders and Sales to link any trades together for their own purposes (ex2)a LinkId used to tie the trades which are confirmed together etc…
Regards
Rahul
What can I say? TradeLinkID(820) is defined as “Used to link a group of trades together.”. This is the right field in the context of Trade Capture Reports. Then there is ClOrdLinkID(583) to group orders. There is no generic repeating group of arbitrary links. This sounds like an area where you should add user-defined fields for the various grouping purposes you have. FIX avoids highly generic fields as this reduces the benefits of standardization.
You can also design your trade identifiers in a way that they reflect grouping, e.g. using the first few digits/characters to define the group a trade belongs to.
Thanks Hanno.
I am thinking of going the user defined route here.
Thanks
Rahul
