This is a primarily a testing role which includes, certification and support. Opportunities to develop also exist around a FIX infrastructure. The role will involve many aspects including interaction with end users and other development teams varying across different product lines. As such, the role is varied and challenging as the team performs many functions. The key aspect to the role involves FIX client certification; this requires the candidate to arrange and perform FIX testing with our counter parties both from buy side and sell side.
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
• FIX Client Integration and day to day management of production FIX interfaces to our Electronic Trading environment.
• This position involves extensive interaction with our external clients.
Typical Activities:
• Electronic Trading Interface design and client interface configuration.
• Working with Clients to establish Connectivity and Certification testing.
• Participate in testing of new versions of binaries and execute upgrades of existing environments.
• Will provide 1st/2nd level support of production environment including outage management and remediation.
Skills/Experience Required:
Good user interaction skills and the ability to work in a global team-oriented environment. Candidate should possess strong communication skills and is required to be proactive in resolving immediate problems while balancing the need to keep on track the strategic initiatives.
Required Skills/Experience:
• At least 3 to 5 years experience working in the Financial Services industry
• TCP/IP basics
• MUST have strong UNIX background – inc understanding of file systems, symbolic links and process management
• FIX - should have experience with FIX and Client Connectivity, Order Flow Routing and Electronic Trading
• Candidate should have experience implementing change to a production trading environment
• Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written
Knowledge of the following systems/standards required:
• Excellent knowledge of the FIX protocol and its usage
• Good understanding of OMS and distributed systems in a UNIX environment
