Hi -
This is Don Scheurer from Bloomberg…
As we are testing our Futures and Options fix link with a few different companies we have come accross the need for another type of securitytype tag(167) - we would like to use another tag to sub denote a future mainly for indexes. With the Bloomberg Professional we use a subflag to denote the same symbol is a future or an option. Currently we are transmitting this by using 55=MNA Index/55=MNA Cmdty to differentiate these 2 very different types of securities.

This is addressed in FIX 4.3 using the CFICode. As far as modifying the SecurityType (tag 167) - we haven’t been doing that for previous versions - but your request and approach has merit.
