How to process exeution report (FILLED) if session is broken

Customer sent an order and broker accepted the order. If customer requested to logout from session and broker accpeted the request.

How does broker process the opened order?

  1. Cancel the order ?
  2. Store execution report of the order and reply it to customer after he connect with ?
  3. Customer should query the order status by himself after he connect with ?

The broker should perform #2 and also be capable of supporting #3. Upon bi-lateral agreement, the broker (or ECN or Exchange) and customer may very wish to establish rule #1. Many ECNs have this "feature" such that if the FIX session is broken, all open orders are cancelled if the customer requests this "setting". Even w/ #3 if trades actually occur before all orders are cancelled, the broker should perform #2 for the Exec Rpts associated with those completed trades.
