how to use ResetSeqNumFlag to maintain a session

Hi,
Is there someone can tell me how to use ResetSeqNumFlag to maintain a session exactly？ For example, should the connection be shut down after running 24h？who should send the Logon message with resetseqnumflag, the initiator？If don’t shut down the connection, when should we send the logon message？

Hi,
a long running session shouldn’t shut down.
At 00:00 GMT the Initiator should send a Logon message with seqNum=1 and 141=Y.
As per a “normal” Logon message, the initiator shoud stop the Heartbeat send, until the Logon response from Acceptor is received.

Do you mean that initiator stops sending any message until Logon response or ResendRequest is received after sending Logon with 141=Y?
IF receiving ResendRequest,resend those messages followed by sending Logon with 141=Y?

Hi Lswallow,
both parties should be sure to have not any pending request before sending\managing a Logon with ResetSeqNumFlag…
You can find more details in VOL 2 of FIX protocol specs for 4.4 version in Logon paragraph.
