1) How do we shorten that URL?  That is too long and we are using it in the Repository.  the old URL was simply http://www.fixprotocol.org/codelists

2) Additionally on the old site I can "jump" to the correct section of the page with this convention:

http://www.fixprotocol.org/codelists#Protection_Term_Obligation_Types_(EP161)

but it seems on the new site this isn't going to work.  Is there any way to get this to work?  The content on the code list page is likely to grow and I prefer to provide the "jump"

1) how is the original link even constructed?  And must be it that long?  If it is algorithmically created, can we put the page in a "place" where the algortihm creates something more sensible? Not so keen on using bit.ly service.  If there is no option to do that then I'll put in a JIRA ticket and discuss with Kathleen/Courtney.  Long URLs are not manageable for technical content management

2) this is very manual - fine I'll have to deal with it given that the platform is not capable of what the old site can do.  On the old site I did not have to create any anchors manually.  Whenever a document category is create and named that becomes an anchor on the page.

Hi Lisa.

1. In this case you can either use a URL shortening service like bit.ly, or, if a natural language URL is important to you, I would suggest placing a request in Jira with the original URL and the preferred URL. Ras can then create one, but in this case it will be subject to prioritisation by the program office.

2. I think in this case you have the required html skills to be able to include anchors within the block at http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/pg/structure/tech-specs/extension-pack-supplements/codelists -

It would simply be a case of editing the block and inserting the anchors in the html. Instructions on anchoring can be found at http://www.echoecho.com/htmllinks08.htm - but effectively you construct an expression:

and then the link to that anchor will be of the form:

http://www.URL.com#your-choice
