Is it normal for someone to send 35=G Order Cancel/Replace Request making changes only to tag 58 and no other tags? Please advise.

yes, this is something exchange has customised at their end.
Take a look at “HandlInst (21) and Text (58)” at

Could be that Tag 58 Text contains an encoded Algo.

The eXchange that you are refering to is not actually not FIX compliant. Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for highlighting on the FIX specifications; in this case do you think the system should reject the Change Request since it does not contain changes to either of the fields mentioned in the specs and only to tag 58?
