Is there any cheat sheet somewhere that explains the semantics of this website?

This is something we will look into Lisa. In general, we have applied natural language expressions in their appropriate context.

In the case of 'your' - this means something you own, or which you retain the ownership for at the system level, so any content type which you have permission to create is 'yours'. In the context of the dashbord which lists each type of content or collective, 'Your x' has the implication that you created it, and therefore you own it.

In terms of collectives, which are essentially structures for the management of groups and group activity, there are 2 basic models:

1. Collectives which imply membership of a group - committees, subcommittees, working groups, informal groups, employee groups - all follow the pattern that you 'join' - i.e. you can request to join, or manage 'join requests'.

2. In the case of collectives which don't necessarily imply membership, such as product listings, conference microsites, member listings - the convention is that you 'follow' impling that you are interested in the activities of said collective.

These 2 alternatives explain the presence of the Dashboard option "Your Membership / Follow Requests"

Informal Groups are essentially groups which are managed by users, usually not the program office. They are informal in the sense that they do not have a formal purpose but can be managed and administered informally.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'Membership Listing'. Do you perhaps mean 'Member listing' - this is the collective-type which Member Firms have by virtue of their Membership.

I find the terminology used confusing.  What does "Your" mean?  something I belong to/"follow" as you guys like to put it, or something I created?

What does "Membership listing" mean?  Membership to what?

And what's an "Informal Group"?

"Your Membership" is another one that I find vague especially since I get a blank page.
