JASDAQ/HERCULES merger.

Imported from previous forum

Would appreciate any help confirming the new exchange code used after JASDAQ/HERCULES merger.
At one point we have heard that it will reuse “Q” but now, we are hearing that JASDAQ/HERCULES tickers will be using “OS” same as Osaka Exchange.
Could any one confirm which exchange code the marged exchange will be aassigned?
Thank you.

I assume you are referring to the FIX.4.2 Exchange Code?

For the ISO 10383 Market Identifier Code (MIC) (used FIX.4.3 and later versions) please refer to the registration authority: http://www.iso15022.org/MIC/homepageMIC.htm

It is our understanding that Reuters merge “Q” and “OJ” into “OS”, in RIC suffix.

They have announced that they will send “OS” in their RJFIX flow and market data system in Japan.

We are now cross checking with their support whether “OS” is applied to whole RIC code scheme.

This Exchange merger will occure on Oct 12th, 2010.
I assume FIX 4.2 will adapt whatever the code the Reuters will assign to the merged exchange?

Looks like on the exchange side, there would still be two subsystems - OS and JASDAQ.If “OS” is going to be the only exchange code on fix4.2,how will we identify the subsystem?
