A leading investment bank are seeking a Senior Analyst Programmer in the Equities Technology development team. Working within the Client Connectivity desk in equities.

The Equity Client Connectivity Desks have over a thousand customers from around the globe connected electronically via the FIX protocol, including the vast majority of the firm’s most important accounts. Electronic orders currently account for approximately 25% of total order flow and this proportion is expected to increase rapidly over the next 1 – 2 years.

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Programmer/Analyst to join the London-based development team supporting this growing area and become part of a global development team. The Client Connectivity team is a maturing team which is building out its own local client connectivity infrastructure and is a key part of the broader global team. The candidate will also provide 2nd level support to both old and new environments, and support customer testing.

This role is in a highly client facing team and would give the successful candidate significant opportunity to build their profile, both within the front office equities business and with senior technologists globally. If successful within the role the candidate would also build an excellent knowledge of Equities systems and business processes leaving them well placed for other roles within the organisation.

You will have:

Minimum 3 years software development experience, in a customer-facing role.

· Good equities business knowledge, knowledge of the FIX protocol would be beneficial.

Skills:

Proven business experience in a variety of technical skills including

· Strong Java coding experience
· Relational Database and SQL (preferably Sybase)
· Unix (preferably Solaris)

This is a London based permanent position.
