Hello.
We’ve had a request for a quickfix xml schema for our post-trade drop copy messages.
Given there appears to be Orchestra support in QuickFIX I thought this would be an ideal test for a real-world example to use log2orchestra.
This: https://github.com/FIXTradingCommunity/fix-orchestra/issues/90 states that the tools are only available to FIX members, but for the life of me I can’t find them on fixtrading dot org
Google search “log2orchestra site:fixtrading.org” only has 3 results.
There is a link “LOG2ORCHESTRA” in https://www.fixtrading.org/orchestra-tools-and-tutorials/ but it doesn’t do anything in Chrome, Firefox or IE 10.
Has anyone successfully used log2orchestra ? Is there an idiots guide ?
Dougal.
Fidessa.
After a period of enhancement, we are about ready to re-open a beta test program for log2orchestra. Members should contact the program office if they are interested in testing and using the app.
For those not familiar with the program, log2orchestra is a browser-based application that reads FIX logs in tagvalue encoding (FIX classic) and translates the messages to an Orchestra file. It is a quick way to capture existing rules of engagement. For security, logs never leave the user’s premises, and Orchestra files are written locally. Furthermore, the app can now read anonymized logs where sensitive fields have been deleted without having to update body length and checksum. Also, the app can now process log files where the SOH control character has been replaced with another printable character.
The program is very easy to use, so there is no need for extensive documentation (there is one help page). However, there are tutorials for Orchestra in GitHub.
