In the Logon message (type “A”), the DefaultApplVerIDfield (1137) is marked as required in FIXimate. Could you please confirm that this was the intention? What was the reasoning behind the decision to make this field required?

Hi

The DefaultApplVerIDField is required at logon so that the session knows what version of the application messages are being exchanged when individual application messages do not explicitly include the version header tags in FIXT11.
