Hi Folks,
As part of an ongoing FIX Gateway project here at PLUS Markets, we are looking to provide a Market Data Server to allow dissemination of Data to our MDVs (Market Data Vendors.)
I will be interested to get a feedback on the below two questions:
1: What is the spread of usage between “Publish & Subscribe” vs “receive All” data dissemination
2: In terms of data distribution, which is the most efficient method to adopt “Point-to-point” or “Multicast” channel broadcast?
NB We currently have 18,000 listings on our trading engine.
Appreciate a feedback.

Have you considered using FAST for Market Data?

Hi Mark,
My opinion below…

All” data dissemination
From Exchanges = 100% receive all, with a twist. Most exchanges “channelize” their product by sections (e.g. Options, equities, Indexes etc.) then within the groups it is “receive all”.
2: In terms of data distribution, which is the most efficient method to
adopt “Point-to-point” or “Multicast” channel broadcast?
Multicast without question. Look at the CME implementation, they are the most well researched and organised I know (I don’t have experience in Equities, so don’t take this view as authoritative).
NB We currently have 18,000 listings on our trading engine.
How many connecting users/entities is more the decision element…
