Since October, NYFIX has hosted very successful training programs in New York, Toronto and Boston and we are pleased to be hosting two further one-day training programs in London on the 13th and 14th of March, 2007.

"Learn to Speak FIX as a Second Language"

The objectives of this course are to provide a high-level understanding of the FIX protocol and integrating FIX software into your trading environment. The course is geared toward trading and support staffs who are relatively new to FIX.

Generally, our courses encompass one day of materials. In the event that customers would like to customize the course based on specific needs, NYFIX can modify the course to meet your end objectives.

  1. FIX General Overview
    What is FIX? Who created it? Why do we use it? The benefits of FIX.

  2. FIX in Detail
    Examine FIX message types, components, layers and business flows.

  3. FIX Engine
    What is a FIX engine? What does it do? How does it interact with the rest of the trading environment?

  4. Session Layer
    Definition of “Session Layer”, as well as message types, operation and recovery in a FIX session.

  5. Application Layer
    Definition of “Application Layer”, as well as messages, business flows, required and conditional fields, and customization of messages.

  6. Connection On-Boarding and Certification
    Adding new connections, hosted vs. point-to-point connectivity, certification process and best practices.

  7. Q&A
