QA/TESTER FOR INVESTMENT BANK IN LONDON

Major investment bank is keen to hire an experienced QA/testing executive to test applications and software for their invaluable portfolio trading technology group. This is a key role and with great opportunities for personal career growth. You must have had a solid work history and have worked for an investment bank before. The primary responsibility of this role is to test software developed by the International PTG technology group for deployment to traders and sales traders in London, New York and Hong Kong. The candidate will be expected to have an understanding of portfolio trading across all global markets and be able to translate business requirements into test plans. Their aim is for testing to become highly automated with automatic regression tests, nightly builds etc the norm. You should be comfortable working on both Windows and Unix (Solaris or Linux) platforms and be able to perform a certain amount of fault finding during testing by examining log files, restarting processes etc as required. Also understanding of Shell and Perl scripts as well as Firewalls and SQL (Sybase) is needed. Experience with equity order management systems and/or practical working knowledge of the FIX protocol (versions 4.0 and 4.2) is essential for this role as many testing scenarios will require familiarity with FIX messaging. Experience with testing tools such as TestDirector and QuickTestPro is important. The team sits on the trading floor.
