Symbology for Digital Assets

I read the FIX spec given in FIX trading Digital Assets Working Group https://www.fixtrading.org/groups/blockchain/documents/

Are the Digital Token Identifiers(DTI) similar to CUSIP, SEDOL, ISINs?
Is it better to use the digital asset symbology in Tag 55 with 15 or a FX style currency pair of Base/Quote notation in Tag 55. I have seen the FX style notation more.

If digital assets move more towards being treated as security, then I think tag 55 with 15 make more sense. I’d be curious to see what other market players think about symbology.

Please see the recommended practices document Digital Asset Trading and the related FIX Extension Pack. FIX supports both securities style and FX style for digital asset trading. Digital Token Identifier (DTI) has the advantage of being an ISO standard (ISO 24165) and being specifically developed for this asset class. The ISO currency standard (ISO 4217) does not include digital currencies. FIX has extended its datatype “Currency” to include values from ISO 24165.

Yes it is similar and as pointed out it is an ISO standard just like ISIN is.
