The TradeDate is mandatory in Trade Capture Report messages. However, the field description is the following:
“Indicates date of trade referenced in this message in YYYYMMDD format. Absence of this field indicates current day (expressed in local time at place of trade).”
The decription of the field in the message also says: “Used when reporting other than current day trades.”
It seems the field should not be mandatory in the Trade Capture Report message. That would also be consistent with the practice used in some markets - i.e. using the field when reporting other than current day trades only.
