Trading Session Status Reject

Imported from previous forum

In the Fix 4.2 spec it states that the trading session status message (type ‘h’) should be used to respond if a trading session status request (type ‘g’) is rejected. The problem here is there is no field in message ‘h’ which indicates the response is the result of a rejection. Tag 340 looks the most likely to have a value which would show that the message was rejected, but there is no appropriate value. If someone could help with this problem it would be appreciated.

Just to close off this ancient query in case anybody else stumbles across it, a new value 6 = Request Rejected was added to Tag 340 in FIX 4.3.
So a Trading Session Status message with tag 340 = 6 is the correct way to reject a Trading Session Status Request message.
