Hi All,
Recently, the IETF has approved XMPP as a open XML protocol
for near-real-time messaging, presence, and request-response
services.
XMPP is a standard that is ideal for transport XML messages
between any two-point in a system. In fact, an XML stream is
defined that could be used for asynchronous exchange of
relatively small payloads of structured information between
presence-aware entities.
We could easily use XMPP to transport FIXML messages. We
could leverage existing XMPP standardization efforts, as well as
its exciting infrastructure, such as programming libraries,
servers, clients…etc
XMPP originates from the popular and proven Jabber network,
which is an instant messaging network, where millions of users
are using it.

I think combing XMPP and FIXML could be a catalyst to speed up
the standardization of FIXML.
