What happen when we cancel a cancelled transaction type

According to the specs. for FIX 4.0, how should one handle an execution report with ExecTransType=1 (Cancel) but has the ExecRefID tag pointing to an execution report which itself also has an ExecTransType of 1.

In this case, do we restore the very original fill that the earlier execution report is trying to cancel ?

It was clarified in FIX 4.2 that "ExecTransType of Cancel should not be used to cancel a previous ExecutionRpt with ExecTransType of Cancel (e.g. cannot cancel a cancel)"
