Has anyone used the new settlement instruction request and response messages yet? I am looking to get some illstrative/example messages (request and response) which highlight the data applied against the tags, as the specification doesn’t provide illustrations for these messages that we can find.
Also we think that the spec should be using the Party component block that includes tag 782 rather than 448 for these messages.

Hi,
First question - answer is ‘not yet’ - detailed guidelines as to usage, together with sample messages, is part of the work currently being done by the FIX Allocations Working Group. You’ll find some details as to the formatting of the settlement instructions component block at the back of volume 6 of the specification, though we intend to flesh this out with real examples for the implementation documentation currently being worked on.
Re. Party block - can you please elaborate? The selection of Parties vs. NestedParties vs. SettlementParties in the specification was made based on the ability to embed the settlement instructions fields within other messages.
