I am in the process of testing FIX allocations and I have come across a problem with FIX Allocations Cancellation messages, to which I am trying to find a solution to.
I wonder if someone can advise me what fields are Required to be populated on FIX v4.2 in the case of Cancelled Allocation messages? Tag 71=2
Our front office provider is advising me that the following fields are not required in v4.2 – 11, 73, 78, 79 and 80
Our FIX provider is advising me that those fields are required
The brokers I am testing with are advising me that those fields are required (but not in subsequent v4.3)
I have looked at the FAWG implementation guide for v4.0/4.2 and this seems to say that those fields are required in v4.2
At the moment the brokers are rejecting our cancelled messages due to those fields not being populated, and our front office provider can’t populate them and say they have developed to the FIX specification for v4.2.
I just need some clarification as to what is correct so I can either go to the brokers or to our front office provider and ask them to look at their set up.
I would appreciate any feedback you can give me.
