Edinburgh, Scotland, 26 November 2002 - Apt Computer Systems Limited, a leading vendor of FIX (Financial Information eXchange) engines and connectivity software tools for the financial world, announces that Beauchamp Financial Technology (BFT), a global provider of order management and portfolio management solutions to traditional and alternative asset managers, has fully integrated the Apt Enterprise FIX Server engine into its latest software package OrderManager. OrderManager enables fund managers and traders to electronically manage the order process, from inception through execution and allocation. The package makes use of FIX technology to send and receive electronic messages to and from executing brokers, ECNs and other pools of liquidity. Apt’s Enterprise FIX Server is embedded in OrderManager to provide the FIX connectivity.

Andy Archer, Development Director at BFT, said, “for such a mission critical software project we needed a FIX engine that was robust, reliable and well supported by the vendor. Having checked out a number of FIX vendors we chose three to rigorously test. This process not only tested the engines but also the vendor’s support. Apt was the clear winner coming first in all the test objectives we set.” Archer added, “Apt have a very impressive testing and certification tool, their Real Time Interactive FIX Transaction Simulator, which we used to simulate the test environment. The simulator proved to be invaluable, enabling us to very quickly set-up various trading scenarios and efficiently plan our FIX integration with OrderManager.”

Commenting on the relationship, David Shobrook, Apt’s sales director said, “at Apt, we are delighted to be working BFT they can now offer their customers best of breed order management with best of breed FIX connectivity.”
